Box Miter & Square Shooting Boards
My old shooting boards have seen better days so I made two new fresh and clean ones. Many of you asked many times about the miter shooting board for box making so I decided to film it. They have no fancy features, just simple shooting boards made from birch plywood and oak squared fences to make the job done. Ready made ones for sale on my store www.adrianpreda.com/shop

The Japanese Workbench - a Planing Beam
Переглядів 283 тис.2 роки тому
A traditional Japanese planing beam, mostly used for thin and long pieces like shoji stiles and rails but it can be adapted and used also for other woodworking tasks. I've added two extra features, a V groove to hold the pieces at 45 degrees when using the chamfer plane and a rebate to edge plane the machine marks of the long kumiko strips. No fancy joinery on this project, just using basic tec...
Making a Cherry Shelf // Mid-Century Modern
Переглядів 30 тис.2 роки тому
A simple but stylish shelf to go with my previous made cherry desk. The design is inspired from the mid century modern Danish style of the 50's furniture with some details to match some elements and angles of the desk. The shelf is made from just four components joined together with sliding dovetails. A back panel would have been good to add too but the inside space is tight enough so the hange...
Mount Fuji - Kumiko Landscape Panel - Japanese Woodworking
Переглядів 43 тис.3 роки тому
A landscape scene of the Mount Fuji and some nature around with various traditional Japanese Kumiko patterns. One goal of this project was to design a decent large panel with small triangles inside, enough to give a good resolution but also with sufficient space inside to work the patterns. There are 8 Kumiko patterns in the scene, all from different wood types, with different natural colors, l...

(enable captions/subtitles for some explanations along the build) I am working on some bigger kumiko hexagonal projects that are made mostly with a table saw jig, and decided to make this clip as well, doing them by hand tools, to go along with my old video of making square patterns by hand tools ua-cam.com/video/3kh_d...
Shop Tour - A Modular Container Workshop
Переглядів 73 тис.3 роки тому
A quick tour of my new little workshop which I arranged in the last months. It is inside of a modular container, those insulated office/job site type ones, 6x3x3m (20x10x10') in dimensions. Still small but plenty of room for my work, and more natural light for videos. About one half is the handtools and filming area, a quarter is the machinery area, my little table saw, planer and bandsaw, and ...

Making a Cherry Desk - All Hand Tool Joinery
Переглядів 64 тис.4 роки тому
The Cherry Desk build from start to finish! From tree to finished product! I wanted to build a desk for myself from the cherry wood that I dried last year in the solar kiln. I had in mind a skinny legs modern looking desk with a drawer aside. The small thickness of the lumber (1") kinda limited me in designs, but I was inspired by a desk made by Tim Rousseau in Fine Woodworking Magazine, where ...

Crazy how not a word was spoken and yet this video has influenced my perception and style of woodworking more than any other I've seen. By any chance do you know the formal/technical name for the joint used to join the stretcher to the double leg posts? I thought perhaps a double T-bridle, but upon searching I didn't find anything similar by that name. Thanks!
